Once upon a time there was a mother daughter duo who dreamed of living a calm, cool, and collected life. What they got instead was chaos. Join us as we journey through the pitfalls of caring for a worry-filled anxiety-prone veteran with serious health issues, PTSD, and memory loss while trying to maintain our own sanity and squeeze out a sliver of the day for ourselves.

We’re sorry (not really) if everything here at first appears to be scatterbrained. We’re scatterbrained here! Posts may at first appear random, but our goal for the new year is to simplify, so rather than delay posting any longer than we’ve already procrastinated, we plan to explore a variety of topics and interests and streamline as we go. We invite you to stick with us and join us on the journey. And if there is ever anything you would like us to elaborate on, then let us know!

We spend the bulk of our time chasing Husband/Dad around and trying to keep everything from falling apart around here. He’s quite a handful and keeps us on our toes. Some days it seems like little else is getting done and the days and weeks tend to blur together with little deviation. There’s a great quote that describes life here perfectly: “I take it one day at a time, but sometimes several of them attack me at once.”

We each have our own ways of retaining our sanity, which we’ll introduce you to, but we both have a serious addiction to good stories and we have eclectic tastes, so if a book review randomly shows up grab a cup of tea and join in. (Em likes tea, Elle not so much.)

We’d like to give a shout out to our fantastic logo designer, Dori! She and her husband Jeremiah own and operate Stark Wild, a company that specializes in wilderness survival training and excursions, but Dori is a very talented artist as well one heck of a mom! She has three young children (two of which have Down Syndrome) that keep her on her toes and all over the place. We gave her some vague ideas that we were tossing around for a logo, we hadn’t any firm direction figured out at the time other than we’d like to use our initials as acronyms, and just let her play with it. We all figured we do some back and forth and refine it over a few versions. We loved the very first design she shared with us! ❤️ Thank you, Dori! ❤️
